Karyo Edelman helps City of Vancouver launch digital engagement program for LiveCity Vancouver
LiveCity Vancouver, hosted by the City of Vancouver, launched its digital engagement program this month, featuring the LiveCity Vancouver website, Facebook page, contest, Twitter feeds, Flickr photos and YouTube video channel.
During the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games, LiveCity Vancouver will host two free celebration sites in Vancouver offering top local, Canadian and international entertainment, big-screen Olympic Winter Games sporting coverage, Olympic sponsor and partner pavilions.
LiveCity Vancouver is all about celebration and sharing the moment,” says Mayor Gregor Robertson. “It is about the chance to stand shoulder to shoulder with neighbours from around the block or across the country as well as new friends and visitors to our city – to experience the excitement and celebrate the true spirit of the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games together.”
Leading up to the Games, the LiveCity Vancouver program will give the public a chance to share their excitement and experiences online, and then stay connected and continue sharing their experiences at LiveCity Vancouver once the Games begin.
The LiveCity website features the full program of activities and performances that will be taking place at LiveCity Vancouver, along with Twitter feedsthat will aggregate tweets from the public with official LiveCity Vancouver “Twitter Ambassadors,” tweeting live from the event.
The Facebook pageinvites fans to share “welcome” messages and photos with the world. Fans also have the chance to win a LiveCity Vancouver sponsor prize pack, including an Acer notebook computer, Coca-Cola Koolatron fridge, Panasonic HD TV, Samsung Vice Handset and apparel from the Province of Manitoba – just by becoming a fan of the page.
