Karyo Edelman teams up with Rick Hansen Foundation to share Rick’s journey through a dynamic web site.
Rick Hansen Foundation launched a new website this month allowing visitors to experience Rick Hansen’s story through never-before seen photography and video.
Working closely with the Foundation, the Karyo-Edelman creative and digital teams married a clean, classic design with user-friendly functionality to deliver a site that allows the Foundation to organize their media resources and share its rich history in compelling new ways.
“In over 25 years we have built a significant library documenting Rick’s journey,” says Lisa Geddes, VP Communications at the Rick Hansen Foundation. “Rick is a very dynamic individual, and it was important that our site reflect this. We are excited to be using new technology to connect with our audiences.”
In addition to social media, the site is a platform for the new Rick Hansen Foundation blog. Through his role as co-Mayor of the Vancouver Olympic Village, Rick Hansen will be sharing his experiences throughout the Games via blog posts and Twitter.
“I am looking forward to the Games because of my history as an athlete in both the Paralympics and the Olympics,” says Hansen. “I love the energy and the spirit of the Games and I am looking forward to sharing my experiences through our new site and blog.”
Coincidentally, March 21, 2010, the day of the Closing Ceremonies of the Paralympic Games, is also the first day of the 25th Anniversary of the Man In Motion World Tour. The new web site will be at the centre of its communications efforts to Canadians as Rick and the Foundation celebrate this significant milestone and continue their journey.
